-Bill Russell led off the game with his 4^th home run of the season and Burt Hooton (10-15, 3.61) pitched seven innings without allowing an earned run as the Dodgers win their fourth in a row while the Braves have dropped seven straight.

-George Foster’s 28^th home run of the season sealed a pivotal 5-2 win for the Reds. Wasn’t Bill Bonham’s (16-8, 3.13) best outing as he allowed thirteen baserunners in seven innings but it was enough for the win. Cesar Geronimo threw runners out at 3^rd and home early in the game..
