American League:
Kansas City 9 at Boston 8 (10)
- A wild see-saw affair sees the Royals trail 4-0, lead 7-4, trail 8-7 only to tie it with two outs in the 9th on Frank White’s 12th home run of the year off Skip Lockwood (5-5, 2.47) and win it in the 10th. Buck Martinez (5HR) hit two home runs, drove in five and scored the winning run. Al Hrabosky (1-2, 3.72) struck out three in 1.2 innings for the win
Texas 1 at New York 2 (14)

Oakland 5 at Baltimore 6 (10)

Willie Horton’s 13th home run of the season was a pinch-hit grand slam in the top of the 9th to turn a two-run deficit into a two run lead for Oakland. The Orioles though would rally themselves for two runs in the bottom half and win it in the 10th on Ellie Hendricks (16HR) home run off Elias Sosa (3-5, 2.86)
California 3 at Cleveland 4
