Boston 2 at Montreal 3 (10)
-Red Sox closer Skip Lockwood (4-3, 2.74) felt snubbed for the All-Star Game but didn’t prove himself worthy today as the only batter he faced was Andre Thornton (5HR) who hit a pinch-hit home run off him to win it in the bottom of the 10th. The Expos have won seven in a row – all versus AL contenders
NY Yankees 5 at NY Mets 2
-1976 has been a struggle for Thurman Munson, but his 5th home run of the season was the go-ahead shot in the 9th as the Yankees will look for the Subway Series sweep tomorrow. Dick Tidrow (24 Sv, 1.71) pitched a perfect 9th for the save
Baltimore 2 at Philadelphia 8

-The Royals build an 8-0 lead for Paul Splittorff (18-3, 2.46), the Cardinals would rally for six off the AL All-Star starter in the 6th but the hole proved too deep for St. Louis. Rookie Tom Poquette went 4 for 5 with three RBI’s for the Royals.
Milwaukee 5 at Atlanta 3
