Angels Win Seventh Straight as Tanana Blanks Brewers

-Wilbur Wood (0-1, 12.46) may be headed back to the waiver wire as Boston roughs him up for 6 runs in 4.1 innings. Dwight Evans (.333 4HR) had three hits and a home run

-Bullpen workhorse Vic Albury (2-3, 5.27) wins his first start of the season and Glenn Borgmann (.257) went 4 for 4 as the Twins end a 3-game slide
Cleveland 6 at Kansas City 19
- Frank White (.317), Hal McRae (.197), George Brett (.380), Ruppert Jones (.429) all had three hits as the Royals demolish a free-falling Cleveland squad that gave up 21 hits and made 5 errors and  lost their seventh in a row
Baltimore 8 at Texas 6
-Jim Northrup (.311) and rookie Andres Mora (.286) each hit their first home runs of the season as the O’s rough up Mike Kekich (4-3, 4.78) and Jim Bibby (4.42) in the win
Milwaukee 0 at California 2
-Frank Tanana (5-3, 3.06) with the 5-hit shutout as the Angels have now rattled off 7 straight victories
Detroit 1 at Oakland 2 (12)
- Billy Williams (.345) singled home pinch-runner Billy North for the winning run as the A’s squeak by a Tiger squad that’s finally strung together a competitive stretch of late. Dave Collins went 5 for 5 for Detroit in the loss.

Cincinnati 2 at Chicago 3
-The Cubs have won three in a row following a ten game slide as Ray Burris (2-1, 3.23) got the win and rookie Bruce Sutter (1.59) his first major league save
Atlanta 8 at Pittsburgh 1
-Darrell Evans (.242 7HR) homered twice and drove in four as the Braves thump the previously dominant Rick Reuschel (5-1, 1.62) at Three Rivers
Houston 5 at St. Louis 4
-Reggie Smith (.246 8HR) hit two home runs in his first home game at Busch Stadium but Davey Lopes (.219 3HR) hit a pinch-hit three-run shot to highlight a 5-run 8th as Nolan Ryan (5-2, 4.14) and the Astros prevail.
Philadelphia 13 at Los Angeles 10
-Larry Bowa (.372 1HR), Greg Luzinski (.307 8HT ) and Tom Hutton (.260 3HR) each homered and combined for ten RBI’s and Tom Hilgendorf (2-1, 0.66) pitched 4 shutout innings in relief as the Phillies hand the Dodgers their seventh consecutive loss
Montreal 3 at San Diego 2
-Rusty Staub (.294 7HR) has four home runs in three days as Montreal extends their season long winning streak to four
New York 1 at San Francisco 3
-Ed Halicki (4-3, 2.31) and Gary Lavelle (1Sv, 3.38) combine to end both the Giants six game losing streak and the Mets five game winning streak
