-The Angels rally from 4-0 down but lose on Lenny Randle’s RBI single in the 9th

-Bruce Kison (3-0, 2.16) battled through 8 tough innings as the A’s rap out 13 hits but leave 11 men on base as the Red Sox prevail. Skip Lockwood struck out Sal Bando with 2 on in the 9th for his 5th save

-Roric Harrison (1-2, 2.00) with the 6-hit 0 walk shutout as the Braves have won 5 in a row and the Expos have lost five straight

-He wasn’t as impressive but Gary Nolan (5-0, 1.31) did enough to remain perfect. Backup catcher Bill Plummer hit two home runs for the Reds who’ve won five in a row
New York 8 at Houston 6
-The struggling Joe Torre hit a 2-run home run to key a four run Mets 9th. The Astros answered with two in the bottom half but could not complete the comeback. The Mets end a 7-game losing streak.
