  • Baltimore is quickly erasing the memory of their 1-11 spring. Doug DeCinces's 3B job was confirmed when the O's released Brooks Robinson last week and DeCinces rewarded their trust with two home runs tonight
  • The Pirates and Royals are both 4-0. Pittsburgh ripped Montreal's Dave McNally for four runs in the 1st and never looked back. Kansas City meanwhile rallied with a run in each in the 9th and 10th, winning their home opener on an Amos Otis RBI single
  • San Francisco's Ed Halicki shook off a poor opening day outing by tossing a shutout at Atlanta.
  • Free Agent signing Don Gullett made his Yankees debut and pitched 8 strong as the Indians fall to 0-3
