-Make it ten straight and 38 of 46 for the Royals as Amos Otis (5HR, 36SB) homered and stole a base and Steve Busby (12-6, 3.39) pitched eight innings of four hit ball for the win
California 1 at Baltimore 6
-Bobby Grich (17HR) homered and drove in three as the O’s end a five game slide. Ross Grimsley (13-7, 3.72) went the distance for the win
Oakland 2 at Cleveland 3
-Toby Harrah had three hits including the game winning single in the 9th for the Tribe. Gary Thomasson hit his 14th home run in a losing cause for the A’s
Minnesota 2 at Detroit 3
-Vern Ruhle (9-10, 3.76) and John Hiller (14Sv, 3.23) combine to five hit the Twins.
Chicago 2 at Milwaukee 8
-Charlie Moore hit his 3rd home run of the season and drove in three as Eduardo Rodriguez (8-12, 3.41) struck out eight in seven innings to earn the win

-Hasn’t been a great year for Dave Kingman who began with the Padres but he hits his 20th home run today and drives in four as the Mets maul Burt Hooton (9-15, 3.80). Jon Matlack (7-14, 3.66) with the complete game.
San Diego 5 at Philadelphia 7
-Mike Schmidt’s 34th home run plated the go-ahead runs in the 5th as the Phillies prevail. Tug McGraw (23Sv, 1.94) pitched two shutout innings for the save
Chicago 6 at Atlanta 5
-The Cubs have won four of five on the road following an embarrassing 0-7 homestand. Steve Ontiveros (9), Bobby Murcer (22) and Adrian Garrett (22) all went deep for the Cubs
St. Louis 6 at Cincinnati 7 (11)
-Four walks and a pinch-hit double by Ed Armbrister keyed a three run Reds rally in the 9th and Mike Lum drove in the winning run in the 11th as the Reds rally from 6-1 down for a big win. Pat Darcy, Manny Sarmiento, Rawly Eastwick, Clay Carroll and ex-Cardinal Will McEnaney (6-3, 3.18) pitched nine innings of four hit relief for Cincy.
Pittsburgh 4 at Houston 5
-Mike Ivie (31HR) hit a three-run home run in the 3rd as the Astros hand John Candelaria (12-8, 2.70) his first loss as a Pirate. Rookie sensation Bob Knepper (10- 2, 2.64) and Ken Forsch (31Sv, 2.48) factored in the decision for Houston.
NL East: The Pirates remain 11 games up on the Cardinals
NL West: The Astros maintain a 3 game lead on the Reds
