  • Mike Jorgensen's solo shot in the 8th earned the Mets a win in St. Louis. New York was the last winless team
  • Willie McCovey homered twice in a 12-run San Francisco 5th inning as the Giants maul the Braves 19-9
  • Mike Lum smacked a pair of home runs and drove in five as the Reds completed a sweep of the Dodgers. The NL champs began 0-2 but have bounced back to win four straight
