- Richie Zisk knocks in 6 runs - including a grand slam in the 7th - as the Rangers romp versus Chicago
- Jason Thompson hits his first MLB home run for the Angels and Bob Boone went 4-4 to defeat the Twins in Anaheim
- Claudell Washington homered and scored the winning run on a Billy Williams 7th inning single as Don Sutton moves to 3-0. Oakland has won 5 in a row and are a half game back of Kansas City
- Wayne Granger balked in the winning run in the 9th as the Expos fall at home to the Mets
- Kent Tekulve strikes out 4 in 1.2 innings to close out another win for the 8-2 Pirates
- The Reds have lost three straight despite Johnny Bench's two home runs. Houston is in sole possession of first in the NL West with the win
- Los Angeles has won four in a row thanks to Rick Monday's 11th inning RBI single at San Francisco
